Featuring an interactive exhibition of The Women of Greenwood highlighting the accomplishments and contributions of Augusta Stradford, Susie Bell, Loula Williams, Eunice Jackson, Mary E. Jones Parrish, Mabel Little, Dr. Olivia Hooker and Mother Grace Tucker.
From the struggle for women’s suffrage, to establishing some of the most well-known Greenwood institutions (Dunbar School, Williams Dreamland Theatre, Bell & Little Cafe) as well as leading the charge to rebuild Greenwood’s business district in 1921, women have played an important role in Greenwood’s building, rebuilding and community strength. Queen, a descendant of several influential Greenwood legacies, says, “ I feel like I am walking into my purpose. I’m excited about the opportunities as an artist and businesswoman during this resurgence of energy and collaboration in Greenwood”.
